RRR Distributors Still Demand Discounts

RRR Distributors Still Demand Discounts

Until a few weeks ago, the hullabaloo was all about low ticket prices in Andhra Pradesh.

On this pretext, distributors cut down the agreed amounts and paid a lot less to the producers of “Pushpa” an “Akhanda”.

It was a thing of the past. The state government has given a new G.O hiking the ticket prices and allowing five shows in a day.

The YS Jagan government has given what the film industry sought. Still, the distributors are not ready to pay full money to the producers.

The distributors of “RRR” have further asked for a rebate from the producer on the agreed deal. The Coastal Andhra distributors had inked a deal with producer Danayya to the tune of Rs 100 crore.

They had paid advance payment back then. But the film got delayed for more than two years due to the pandemic.

The distributors argue that they have lost money due to the delay in release, when they calculate the interest on the advance payment. Hence, they are demanding a discount on the deal. The exhibitors don’t have sufficient funds either.

So, the producer of “RRR” may not get Rs 100 crore from coastal Andhra.
