Ram Setu Receives Lukewarm Reception!

Films with Indian mythology and Hindu dharma have been performing extremely well at the box office. The latest success is the Kannada film, Kantara, which collected nearly Rs 25 crore in the Hindi belt.

So, trade pundits placed high bets on Akshay Kumar’s “Ram Setu”, as the title suggests the film is a blend of science fiction and Hindu mythology.

Many believed that the film would open to Rs 20 plus crore nett on the first day. But the early reports suggest it would be a big achievement if it collects Rs 12 to 15 Cr. That is the realistic number being projected now.

On the other hand, the reviews are negative. Word-of-mouth is also not encouraging. From narration to VFX, it is said to be of a low standard. The prominent critics termed it as mediocre.

The film was also a debut vehicle to Bollywood for our Telugu actor Satyadev.
