At the time of Sye Raa’s release, Ram Charan announced that he would not announce collections or release posters with the collection figure.
His decision received appreciation from all quarters. When big movies were boasting bloated collection figures, he took this daring step.
When Trivikram interviewed Megastar Chiranjeevi for a promotional video, the proud dad proclaimed that he was overwhelmed by his son’s great decision.
It was the most mature decision by a young actor that every actor and producer should follow, Chiranjeevi mentioned.
Cut to the present, the situation has changed. “Godfather” starring Chiranjeevi and co-produced by Ram Charan’s Konidela Productions is running in the theaters.
The team has begun releasing collection posters. Rs 100 Crore gross poster was released with much pride.
As soon as the poster came out, the fans of the other stars started terming it a fake number. They have begun posting real collections on social media.
The makers of ‘Godfather’ released the film in the Andhra region for low advance amounts.
As soon as the movie grossed the lowest advance amount, they started boasting it as a big collection and profitable venture.
On the other hand, the film was sold in the Nizam region and overseas.
In the Nizam region, the film collected just Rs 8 plus crore (without GST) and 1 million dollars in the USA, which is too ordinary for a Chiranjeevi movie.
So, why is Ram Charan allowing these posters? He should warn his PR team that he made a policy of not releasing collection posters. And that too with bloated figures.
