YSR Congress party MP from Narasapuram parliamentary constituency Kanumuru Raghurama Krishnam Raju is desperate to have central security forces to protect him.
On Tuesday, he declared that he can’t enter his constituency Narasarpuram without security.
“I can tour my constituency only if I am given full security, as there is a threat to my life. I am planning to go to Narasapuram in another 10 days, but it will happen only if I am given security,” Raju told reporters in Delhi.
The MP said not a single YSRC leader was supporting him in the state and so, he might not feel secure in touring the constituency.
“I am not in a position to go to chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy, because he does not speak with ordinary mortals like me. I can understand his compulsions,” he said.
Raju refused to be dragged into further controversy over his earlier comments that he had not won the seat only because of Jagan.
“He is the party president and I had to use his photographs on the publicity material. I cannot use the pictures of Chandrababu Naidu or Mayawati in my posters,” he asserted.
The MP demanded that the Jagan government, too, should celebrate the birth centenary of former Prime Minister P V Narasimha Rao in a big way.
“All said and done, PV was a representation of Telugu people and one of the most popular Prime Ministers of the country. If we celebrate his birth centenary, it will bring good name to the party as well as the government,” Raju said.
