Dr Rajasekhar will next be seen in the role of a retired cop in the upcoming movie Shekhar.
The film also marks the comeback of his wife Jeevitha as director. The movie is a remake of the Malayalam blockbuster Joseph and is an investigative thriller.
The film has almost neared completion and the makers are looking for a proper release date in January that would give the film its own space.
While there seems to be a slot on January 26, OTT platforms have apparently approached the producer with a handsome offer.
Rajasekhar’s last theatrical release was Kalki in June 2019 and the actor is said to be keen on a theatrical release.
However, with rising concerns of a third wave of Corona and the uncertainty and competition, the makers are said to be keen on accepting the OTT offer.
Adding strength to their point of view is the recent release of Victory Venkatesh’s Drushyam 2 on OTT and the fact that Shekhar has a plotline that would definitely appeal more to the core digital audience.
New variant Omicron is now making many producers seriously consider the digital platforms again.
