'Radhe' Model Fails To Inspire Big Films

'Radhe' Model Fails To Inspire Big Films

"Radhe" is the film that was released amidst huge hype. This tent pole film which was made with the huge budget starring Salman Khan was released simultaneously in theatres and on OTT. This is the first one to attempt that risky and challenging feat among the big ticket films.

But the sources say that this model failed to pull traction for the audience in the desired way. The hype wasn't transferred well into the collections.

Though ZEE5 and ZEEPlex reported about the crash of servers at the time of release, there was heavy backlash from the audience across the globe with regard to the content.

As the content was not exciting for majority viewers, the talk was spread in such a manner that it stopped the patronage of the late audience.

On the other hand the piracy versions of the film were uploaded in torrents that were shot from some random screens.

The direct ticket of Rs 249/- only to watch the film or the combo offer of Rs 499 to watch the film along with one year subscription couldn't do any breakeven.

A source says that the film couldn't collect beyond Rs 25 Cr on the first day and pulled no significant number of audience eventually.

When compared to the earlier films of Salman Khan like Sultan and Bhajarangi Bhaaijaan, both the films collected more than Rs 100 Cr from theatres on the first day itself.

ZEE may see a loss of Rs 80 Cr, say sources in spite of including the collection through music rights, overseas collections, long term digital views and online purchases of the film.

On a whole, this big ticket film couldn't inspire the other biggies in the Indian film industry to follow this risky model.
