Many directors repeat actors in their films. But when they cast female actresses in succession all sorts of speculations are bound to happen.
Director Maruthi frequently collaborates with the character actors like Saptagiri and Rao Ramesh, but none raised eyebrows.
When he repeated Raashi Khanna for “Pakka Commercial” soon after “Prati Roju Pandage”, many wondered why.
Without mincing words, he comes out with an answer for that.
“Frankly, she was not my first choice for Pakka Commercial. In Prati Roju Pandage, she played the role of Tik Tok star so well. However, it was not a lengthy one. So, I thought of giving her a full-length character in one of my next movies but didn’t consider her for Pakka Commercial,” he revealed.
“Many other actresses were considered as the heroine for Gopichand in the film. They were busy with their commitments when we began the regular shoot. So, we approached Raashi Khanna and she immediately agreed. I go with the available cast members rather than sticking to a particular actor. Raashi Khanna was not my first choice but she turned out to be the best choice,” he added.
Maruthi directed “Pakka Commercial” will hit the theaters on the 1st of July. Gopichand plays a lawyer in the film.
