Despite high expectations for a second wave of success, audiences across the country largely skipped the revamped version in theaters.
Producers initially hoped Pushpa - Reloaded would generate thumping collections, propelling the worldwide gross of the blockbuster closer to the Rs 2,000 crore milestone. However, that feat remains unrealized as the re-release fell short of drawing crowds.
With the film’s full theatrical run nearly complete, it seems the Pushpa phenomenon has run its course.
While the original version achieved sensational success and became a cultural sensation, the reloaded version with an addition of 20 minutes to it didn’t live up to its hype in terms of audience turnout or revenue.
Though the re-release experiment didn’t deliver as hoped, Pushpa 2 has already cemented its place as a massive box office hit, leaving an indelible mark on Indian cinema.
