Pushpa 2's TV Premiere Registers Low Viewership

Pushpa 2: The Rule, despite becoming the second highest-grossing Indian film — surpassing even Baahubali 2 — has struggled to sustain momentum beyond its theatrical run.

Its OTT release, though widely viewed, failed to set any new benchmarks in terms of impressions, despite being sold for a record-breaking price.

The film's recent television premiere also fell short of expectations. It aired on Star Maa on April 13, 2025, and registered a Television Viewership Rating (TVR) of just 12.61 — a significant drop compared to the first installment, which crossed a rating of 20.

Directed by Sukumar and starring Allu Arjun alongside Rashmika Mandanna, the film received mixed reactions.

While the Telugu version didn’t break theatrical records, the Hindi version exceeded expectations and set new benchmarks at the box office.
