Pushpa 2: Pricey Ticket Rates Impact on Second Day

Amid immense hype, Allu Arjun's Pushpa 2 hit theaters on Thursday, delivering on expectations and causing a global box office storm.

Directed by Sukumar, the film grossed an impressive ₹12 crore from paid premieres and, according to early estimates, amassed a total of ₹165 crore (net) in India on its opening day.

While the record-breaking opening is cause for celebration, there is growing concern over the impact of high ticket prices.

In Hyderabad, a major market, ticket sales for the second day have slowed significantly.

Students and young working professionals, who typically form the core audience for Telugu films during the opening weekend, are reportedly reluctant to pay the steep ticket prices.

Reports from interior regions of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh also highlight audience dissatisfaction with the inflated rates, resulting in slower bookings for the second day.

Many distributors have already urged the producers to reconsider and lower ticket prices to sustain momentum at the box office.
