Priyamani, renowned for her performances in diverse projects across industries, recently shared her reasons for abstaining from intimate scenes, including kissing scenes, in her movies and web series.
While many actresses, such as Tamannah Bhatia, have been applauded for their bold choices, Priyamani has remained steadfast in her decision and explained her stance.
In an interview with News18, Priyamani expressed, "I won't kiss onscreen. That's a definite no for me. I understand it's part of my role and my profession, but personally, I wouldn't feel comfortable kissing another man onscreen because I am answerable to my husband."
She also mentioned an instance during the show "His Storyy" where she was initially required to perform an intimate scene with actor Satyadeep Mishra, but she expressed her discomfort with it.
She stated, "I'm not comfortable with anything beyond a kiss on the cheek. There were many projects that came my way with such scenes, and I made it clear that I'm not comfortable with them."
Priyamani, who has been married to Mustafa Raj since 2017, further explained that she wants to ensure her in-laws do not feel uneasy when watching her onscreen with someone else in bold scenes.
"I know that both sides of my family will watch any project when it comes out. They are aware that it's my job, but I don't want them to feel cringe. I don't want them to think, 'Why is my daughter-in-law doing this even after marriage? Why is someone else getting intimate with her?' They may not voice it, but it's my personal choice."
