It was previously reported that Malayalam superstar Prithviraj Sukumaran, who made his Telugu debut in Prabhas' Salaar, would play a negative role in Rajamouli's #SSMB29, a global adventure drama.
Recently, Bollywood media reported that Rajamouli had replaced Prithviraj with John Abraham, as the former was reluctant to sign the film.
Finally, Prithviraj Sukumaran has addressed the speculations regarding the project.
He is currently promoting his upcoming pan-Indian film, L2: Empuraan, in which he both directs and acts, with Mohanlal in the lead role.
During these promotions, he confirmed that he would reprise his role in Salaar 2, which is set to begin production next year once director Prashanth Neel completes his film with NTR.
Regarding Mahesh Babu and Rajamouli's film, Prithviraj stated that nothing has been finalized yet. He mentioned that if everything falls into place, he will discuss it further.
