Prakash Raj Accused By Producer Of Causing Rs 1 Cr Loss

Actor Prakash Raj is currently enjoying the success of Devara: Part 1. Amidst this, producer Vinod Kumar has accused the actor of causing him a loss of Rs 1 crore and allegedly leaving the set without informing the crew.

Recently, Prakash Raj posted a picture on X (formerly known as Twitter) featuring himself with Udhayanidhi Stalin, the newly appointed Deputy Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, along with Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin.

Sharing the picture, he captioned it, “With a Deputy CM… #justasking."

However, producer Vinod Kumar reacted to this post and publicly called out the actor.

Retweeting the image, Kumar accused Prakash Raj of causing a loss of Rs 1 crore during a film shoot.

Although he did not mention the film’s name, he wrote, “The other three personalities sitting with you won elections, but you lost the deposit; that’s the difference. You caused a loss of Rs 1 crore on my set by leaving without informing us! What was the reason?! #Justasking!!! You promised to call me, but you didn’t!!”

Kumar followed up with another tweet explaining the incident further.

He stated, “This happened on October 30, 2024. The entire cast and crew, including almost 1000 junior artists, were stunned. It was a 4-day schedule for him, but he left without a word after receiving a call from another production! We had no choice but to stop the shoot, leading to a huge loss.”

Kumar and Prakash Raj had previously collaborated on Enemy, released in 2021. As of now, Prakash Raj has not responded to the accusations.

On the work front, the actor will next appear in Pushpa 2: The Rule and Game Changer starring Ram Charan and Kiara Advani.

He also has upcoming films with Thalapathy Vijay and Suriya in the pipeline.
