The re-release of Salaar, starring Prabhas and Prithviraj Sukumaran, has stirred excitement at the box office, creating a wave of hysteria among fans.
However, despite the buzz and anticipation, the film has fallen short of breaking records set by previous Telugu film re-releases.
Salaar registered a solid pre-sale figure of 102,000 tickets, making it the fourth highest for a Telugu re-release on BookMyShow (BMS).
It couldn’t surpass the top three Telugu re-releases in terms of ticket sales - Gabbar Singh (175K), Murari (145K), and Businessman (145K).
Interestingly, Salaar also missed a spot in the top 5 Indian re-releases in ticket pre-sales.
That list is topped by the re-release of Christopher Nolan’s Interstellar, which sold a massive 234,000 tickets on BMS, followed by the three Telugu blockbusters mentioned above. The fifth spot is held by Sanam Teri Kasam with 134,000 ticket sales.
On the bright side, Salaar managed to surpass the ticket pre-sales of Thalapathy Vijay’s Ghilli, which sold 88,000 tickets during its re-release.
It remains to be seen whether Salaar’s re-release can break box office records in terms of collections, potentially overtaking other high-performing re-releases like Ghilli, Sanam Teri Kasam, Tumbbad, Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, Murari, and Gabbar Singh.
All eyes are now on the film’s opening day collections - will Salaar rise to the occasion?
