While the name suggests a divine connection, it doesn’t imply he is portraying Lord Shiva, a role already taken by Akshay Kumar in the film.
The poster describes Prabhas’ character with the lines- "Pralaya Kala Rudrudu - Trikala Margadarshakudu - Sivajna Paripalakudu," hinting that he is not Shiva himself but a powerful entity who executes Shiva’s divine will.
Earlier, rumors suggested Prabhas would play Nandi. However, if that were true, his character would have been explicitly named Nandi and depicted accordingly as Nandi's personification, which isn’t the case.
