Director Nitesh Tiwari, who is riding high on the box-office succcess of Chhichhore, had recently confirmed to an entertainment portal that his next would be the much talked-about Ramayana.
“After Chhichhore, I’m going to do Ramayana which got announced sometime back. We are conceptualising right now. It’s a trilogy that we are planning and we are trying to see the best possible way to make it,” he had said in the Bollywood interview.
Tiwari, however, had refused to spill the beans on the film’s casting.
On being asked if Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone were a part of the project, he had said, “We are still at the concept level. We haven’t even thought of the casting.”
But a Bollywood source mentioned in a report insists that Hrithik and Deepika are indeed on board and that they will be seen portraying the characters of Rama and Sita, respectively.
The source has been quoted in the report as saying that a staggering budget of Rs 600 crore had been alloted for the film, which will make it the costliest film ever to come out of India.
It further added that Telugu superstar Prabhas had been approached to play Ravana as the makers feel he will add “more personality” to the character.
While the makers have initiated talks with Prabhas and his team, the deal is yet to be locked.
