Pooja Hegde has begun revealing several behind-the-scenes truths about the film industry — particularly how some stars attempt to defame their rivals, and how heroines often receive second-class treatment compared to their male counterparts on set.
She said that even the most successful actresses experience subtle and invisible forms of mistreatment.
She acknowledged that there’s nothing inherently wrong with male stars receiving more limelight, higher remuneration, and prominent placement on posters.
However, she added that it becomes painful when actresses aren't acknowledged at all — neither on posters nor during promotions — for major films.
Pooja recalled how she wasn’t given proper recognition or credit for her role in a "romantic film," which many believe is a reference to a Telugu movie.
She also revealed that while male actors often have vanity vans located close to the shooting sets, female actors’ vans are usually placed much farther away — another example of the unequal treatment.
Pooja Hegde hasn’t appeared in any Telugu films over the past two years. She is currently busy with high-profile Tamil projects, including Suriya’s Retro and Vijay’s Jana Nayagan.
