The Telugu remake of "Theri" featuring Pawan Kalyan has been in development for several years. Initially, it was planned with director Kandireega Srinivas, but the project did not take off.
Finally, the Telugu version of "Theri," titled "Ustaad Bhagat Singh," was launched last year.
Director Harish Shankar aimed to complete the film quickly, but Pawan Kalyan's unavailability led to the suspension of "Ustaad Bhagat Singh" after eight days of shooting.
In the interim, Harish Shankar is directing a film titled "Mr. Bachchan," starring Ravi Teja.
It is anticipated that "Ustaad Bhagat Singh" might resume once Pawan Kalyan becomes available after the upcoming political activities and elections later this year.
Meanwhile, the Hindi remake of "Theri" is progressing quietly, titled "Baby John."
Varun Dhawan is playing the male lead, and Keerthy Suresh is the heroine. Atlee is producing the film, with all details officially announced recently.
Fans of Pawan Kalyan express disappointment, feeling that he missed a valuable opportunity to complete the "Theri" remake before the release of the Hindi version, which is slated for May 31st.
