The blockbuster Uppena introduced two talented actors Vaishnav Tej, Krithi Shetty and a capable director Buchi Babu Sana to the industry.
The film is running successfully with packed houses everywhere in its first week and the team celebrated success meet in Rajahmundry.

Producers of Mythri Movie Makers made a statement that Telugu audiences are the greatest among all the audiences across the world. They expressed gratitude for chief guest Ram Charan for gracing the occasion despite his busy schedules. They also thanked director Buchi Babu for giving a memorable hit.
Interestingly, actress Krithi Shetty spoke Telugu fluently. Everybody on the stage was surprised to see Krithi’s oratory skills. She stated that she was a big fan of Ram Charan who graced the occasion as chief guest.
Vaishnav Tej thanked director Buchi Babu for all the belief he had in him. “Though I was bit hesitant to do the role, he literally forced me to do the film and taught many things. I thank Mythri Movie Makers producers for giving me such a big launch. I’m thankful to Devi Sri Prasad for giving blockbuster music for my first film. A big thanks to Vijay Sethupathi for all the support. I thank Charan anna for gracing the occasion and Telugu audience for accepting and encouraging the film.”
Ram Charan started his speech thanking Telugu audience for making the film such a blockbuster. “2020 was a dull year for the entire industry. When no industry recovered from the corona shock, Tollywood is the only industry that has recovered completely.
Mythri Movie Makers invested huge money and nearly made a mid-range film with 3 debutants. Vaishnav is lucky to have DSP as music director for his debut film. Vaishnav Tej looks innocent, but he is not. He gives lectures even to Tej and to me. He’s most balanced one among all of us.
We knew that he will become successful. My dad Chiranjeevui and babai Pawan Kalyan were among the first persons to encourage him. Pawan Kalyan is like guru to him. He sent him to foreign countries to learn acting. Chiranjeevi heard the story 4 times.”
As is known, Uppena beat Chirutha full run collections to become biggest grosser among debut hero films.
Like the film, the event also became huge hit with massive turnout for the function.
