The aggressive comments made by popular Telugu film hero and Jana Sena Party chief Pawan Kalyan against the Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy government in Andhra Pradesh with regard to the latter’s decision on taking over the online cinema ticketing trade have come as a big shock to the Tollywood.
The hasty comments from Pawan came at a time when the Andhra Pradesh government was said to have agreed to revise the earlier GO reducing the cinema tickets in theatres.
The government, which was working out the revised rates for cinema theatres, put the decision on hold, following the comments made by Pawan Kalyan.
Though the Telugu film chamber of commerce quickly refuted Pawan’s comments and said they would follow the decisions of the government on cinema ticket sales’ issue, the Jagan government was not convinced.
The Tollywood bigwigs are learnt have come to the conclusion that their problems would not be solved in the near future.
Adding to their woes, the nuisance being created by fans of Pawan Kalyan in their confrontation with Posani Krishna Murali, who happens to be Jagan’s hardcore fan, has further complicated the issue.
Apparently, some Tollywood biggies have decided to go to Andhra Pradesh to undo the damage caused by Pawan Kalyan.
They reportedly sought an appointment with state information minister Perni Nani and some others have already left for Vijayawada to seek Jagan’s appointment.
The delegation of Tollywood comprises producer Dil Raju, whose reputation got a beating when he was found smiling at the words of Pawan Kalyan on the dais of the film function a couple of days ago, where he was criticising the Jagan government.
The delegation which left for Vijayawda in a special flight also included Bunny Vaas, Asian Sunil, Danayya and others. They are expected to meet Perni Nani in Machilipatnam.
They hope to impress upon Nani to ignore Pawan’s comments and see that the ticket prices are hiked.
