News is spreading that Rajamouli is heading towards moving the High Court of Andhra Pradesh to get justice over the 'RRR' ticket prices. Though the film producer tweets that the news is wrong, many in the industry say that there is no other way left than moving the court if they have to survive on these investments.
Keeping the extravagant film "RRR" based on graphics and huge sets aside, even the films like "Bheemla Nayak" have huge stakes of investment involved just because of the remuneration of the heroes.
If Rajamouli wins the case in the court, then the verdict helps the other films in the industry in the matter of increasing the ticket prices to exploit the demand. So, Pawan is insisting on the Sankranthi release to cash on the verdict given to RRR.
Already "Akhanda '' producer has come down to a loss of 20% to release the film in theatres through distributors.
If the heroes come down with their remunerations and also agree upon taking a share in the film instead of grabbing huge remunerations, the problem will be solved. There wouldn't be much need to raise the ticket prices in the first week.
On the other hand there is another opinion that as long as the fans are ready to lose Rs 500 to Rs 1000 in the first three days, then what is the problem for anybody? Why should anybody dictate to undersell the product?
Reasonable ticket prices help the common man to watch the film in theatres with his family. With the hiked up ticket prices, the film lovers watch only in the first two days and for the rest of the days the theatres are empty. In this scenario, the theatres will face the problem and may prepare to shut down which indirectly brings loss even for the government which collects different types of taxes.
So, the government is keen on protecting the theatre system in the interest of common man's pockets and government treasury. In this process, it wishes to cut down the aristocracy of star heroes who are enslaving the theatre system for their selfish greed.
