A total of 28 films were released in October including the dubbed ones. Here the dubbed films scored better than the straight ones. The two big hits of this month are the dubbed films.
In the first week of October Godfather, The Ghost and Sathimutyam were released as Dasara specials. Out of these The Ghost of Nagarjuna was declared as a flop on the first day itself. Godfather which was released as a remake could pull some positive talk initially but eventually the collections didn't happen as expected. Swathi Muthyam is the third film which was neither bad with content nor good with collections. This film has come to OTT by Diwali without waiting much in theaters.
In the second week, about 10 films were released. The only hit film of the season was Kantara. The film could continue the hype it garnered in Karnataka with the original Kannada version. In effect to this, all other films toppled at the box office. Among these there were films like Ninne Pelladatha in which Rakul's brother played the lead. Adavi and Rebel were the re-releases.
Even in the third week, the impact of dubbed films continued. As a Diwali special the films Ori Devuda, Ginna, Prince and Sardar were released. Out of these, Sardar of Karthi scored big. Ori Devuda is ok to its extent. Prince and Ginna couldn't show any impact on the box office.
In the last week the films Rudraveena, Tihar College and Anukoni Prayanam were released and none could show any impact. So finally only Kantara and Sardar stood as hits this month.
