Asian Films Narayandas Narang needs no special introduction for industry people. Though he is one of the top financiers and distributors, he maintains very low profile.
Narayandas gave interview to greatandhra.com and he shared many facts about his personal and professional life.
He revealed that he ventured into business when he was 16. “I initially used to look after my family business. But, I started my own and finance business when I was 21.”
Narang went to Chennai only to finance cinema. “At first, due to my inexperience, I faced losses. Then, I had decided to finance only for established producers. I didn’t lose a single rupee till date.”
He stated to have given finances to all the top people including NTR, ANR, MGR etc.
He condemned to have given finance to YS Rajasekhar Reddy.
Narandas informed that he never faced any problems in the industry. “I never filed court case against anybody, as I never faced any problems in finance or cinema business.”
However, he didn’t enter other sectors like setting up studios like his contemporaries.
“I was very comfortable in finance business, so I didn’t show much interest in setting up studios or other businesses.”
Narayandas stated that Namrata Shirodkar was keen to have partnership in AMB Cinemas. “We have equal partnership in AMB Cinemas with Mahesh Babu.”
He made a startling revelation that, there was no one from the industry, except for him to receive NTR at the Begumpet airport, after the actor announced to float his political party.
“Many opined then that, NTR’a party would mostly win 10 to 15 seats. He asked me to join the party, but I said no. His party won 200 seats. When I went to congratulate him, he hugged me affectionately and asked me to join the party at least then.”
Asian Cinemas is currently producing various projects and they have also lined up several films with noted stars.
