There has been an ongoing tussle in the Tollywood industry about release dates. When they find a favorable date, all of them rush in at the same time, and how many will back out is a matter for later.
Unlike Bollywood, there is less planning here when it comes to scheduling release dates.
This month seems to be a dry at the box office. 30 days, 4 Fridays, hundreds of screens, yet not a single notable hero is coming on to the screen.
The big names like Mahesh Babu, Prabhas, Bunny are fine; they prefer festive seasons. But even the mid-range heroes aren't releasing anything in November. That's disheartening. Now they also seek out festive dates.
If we look at this upcoming Friday, not a single hero stands out. Movies like Keedakola, Polimera-2, Narakasura are hitting the screens. Alongside these, some other smaller films are also arriving. Except for the compelling content, there's no star power to bring pull factor for these films.
The situation remains the same in the second week. Films like Anveshi, Vyooham and Ala Ninnu Cheri are coming up. There's no notable hero here either. At least some enthusiastic lesser-known heroes are missing.
In the same week, the release of Lawrence's Jigarthanda Double X is coming, but it's a dubbed film. To consider if it is a notable film, everyone is aware of Lawrence's recent film Chandramukhi-2's outcome.
In the third week, movies like 'Spark', 'Mangalavaram', "Sapthasagaralu Dati Side-B" are releasing on the side. There's nothing exceptional in terms of star power in these films. However, the movie "Mangalavaram" is drawing some attention. There's no prominent hero here; only Payal Rajput is the pull factor.
In the fourth week, films like Adikesava, Kotabommali PS are hitting the screens. Vaishnav Tej is seen here. From the first Friday of November till the last, not a single major star hero is gracing the theaters.
Though Kalyan Ram is the only one who could have pulled some attention this month, his movie Devil has been postponed.
If the content clicks, small films might never get a better opportunity than this. Let's see for which movie luck will favor.
