Tollywood typically views November as a dull month, releasing few big movies.
Last year saw no major releases or hits, and this November followed suit, with 22 films hitting screens but none making a mark.
In the first week, 10 films were released. Among them, Appudo Ippudo Eppudo garnered minimal attention despite its star appeal, as it lacked promotions and compelling content, earning disaster talk on day one.
Other releases like Hebba Patel’s Dhoom Dham and Manchu Lakshmi’s Adiparvam also failed to make their presence at all.
The second week saw two films, Matka and Kanguva. Expectations were high for Varun Tej’s Matka, but it was another flop despite aggressive promotions. Kanguva, starring Suriya, directed by Shiva, flopped due to technical issues, limited theaters and weak content.
In the third week, Mechanic Rocky, a Vishwak Sen starrer, disappointed due to its underwhelming first half, marking another flop for him after Gangs of Godavari.
Similarly, Ashok Galla’s Devaki Nandana Vasudeva tanked, tarnishing hit director Prashanth Varma’s reputation as he gave story for this film.
Satyadev’s Zebra offered some relief with its rising collections despite mixed reviews. However, by the final week, audiences were engrossed in Pushpa-2 hype, leaving a blind eye to the releases like 'Roti Kapda Romance'.
It's all Pushpa2 fever everywhere since the last week of November.
