The Nithiin-Sreeleela starrer Robinhood is now set to join the Sankranti lineup. Initially planned for a Christmas release, the film faced delays as work remained incomplete.
With only ten days to go and no promotional activities started, a Christmas release became unrealistic. Despite hero Nithiin’s insistence, the producers decided to postpone it.
A new release date is being discussed. Dil Raju, who is also producing Nithiin’s Tammudu slated for February, is likely to adjust timelines accordingly.
As of now, three films are confirmed for Sankranti, with a fourth likely to join.
Interestingly, two of the three Sankranti films are produced by Dil Raju, while he is distributing three others in the Nizam region. Meanwhile, Mythri Movie Makers does not have any releases scheduled for Sankranti.
Given these dynamics, Robinhood has strong chances of releasing during Sankranti. A final announcement is expected in a day or two.
