Naga Chaitanya is making his Tamil debut, while Venkat Prabhu is venturing into Tamil with the bilingual Custody which is releasing on 12th of this month.
Srinivasaa Silver Screen is grandly making the movie that stars Krithi Shetty playing the female lead.
Krithi Shetty said the movie will have many edge-of-the-seat moments.
“It’s my second movie with Chay. We’ve worked with so many legends in the movie. It’s a great achievement for me to work in Ilayaraja and Yuvan Shankar Raja combo.”
Venkat Prabhu stated that, “Custody is the most expensive movie in his career and thanked his producers for believing in him. Custody is a completely different genre from whatever I’ve done before. This is a more intense, action, and emotional film. I’ve tried the movie in a realistic manner. The storyline is that the hero has to make sure the villain shouldn’t die. I hope we tried something fresh. The story happens in 48 hours and they wear only two costumes. I wanted an actor who is grounded. It’s a proper bilingual. I wanted to give different Chay to the Telugu audience. Shiva was the first title for the movie, but Chay refused because Shiva was a cult classic.”
Naga Chaitanya thanked the Telugu and Tamil audience for the tremendous response to the teaser.
“The journey of Custody started with Venkat Prabhu narrating the story idea in Hyderabad. He is a boy next door constable. If this person gets a simple power in his hand (truth), he goes to whatever extent and whatever extreme. I liked the point. He felt I would fit in the role. I too wanted to do the movie in Tamil.
I couldn’t have got a better opportunity, being launched by Venkat Prabhu over there. He too wanted to do a Telugu movie. It’s a win-win situation for us. He will be here for a long time. He has a typical trademark screenplay and style, entertainment style. It will be fresh for the Telugu audience. I usually don’t react. After the narration, I went to hug him happily for the first time. I felt the same, after watching the movie at the edit table. It’s been a lovely experience working with senior actors. There are many layers. A new layer will unfold every 10 minutes and the audience will always be on the edge of their seat.”
