2023 turned out to be Nani’s year with his two movies Dasara and Hi Nanna turning out to be huge hits at the box office, besides winning critical accolades.
Nani appeared in two distinctive roles in these movies. While he appeared in the massiest avatar in Dasara, he looked cool in the role of a responsible father in Hi Nanna. It was a big surprise even for the audience to see Nani in completely contrasting get-ups and roles.
Meanwhile, Nani creates history with these two movies. They shine bright at all major awards, as they swept nominations at SIIMA and FilmFare Awards.
Hi Nanna has been nominated for 10 SIIMA awards and 9 FilmFare Awards, whereas Dasara got 11 nominations at SIIMA and 8 at FilmFare Awards.
While Dasara ended up as the biggest grosser for Nani, Hi Nanna also became a big blockbuster.
Nani was also nominated in the category of SIIMA Best Actor in a Leading Role for his remarkable performance in Dasara.
While Dasara was a debut directorial for Srikanth Odela with whom Nani will be working again, Hi Nanna is a maiden venture as a director for Shouryuv.
Both these movies were musical hits. Heroines Keerthy Suresh and Mrunal Thakur also received nominations.
It’s a rare feat for Nani to deliver hits with debut directors and also to receive so many nominations at major awards.
