The government of Andhra Pradesh has long stopped presenting film awards. The well-known Nandi Awards have taken a political turn.
Senior producer Ashwini Dutt slammed the YS Jagan government today, saying that their government prefers to give Best Rowdy and Best Gunda awards over Nandi awards.
Posani Krishna Murali, a well-known actor and writer, reacted quickly to Dutt's remarks and responded strongly.
"You deserve Best Loafer and Best Backstabber awards. Best Sannasi and Best Vedava awards should be given to you guys," Posani responded to Dutt's statements.
Posani also stated that the ruling YSRC government has no objections if Tamil superstar Rajinikanth visits Vijayawada on a daily basis to praise Nara Chandrababu Naidu.
"He is a Tamil super star. Chiranjeevi is the super star for Telugu people. We admire Chiranjeevi. And Chiranjeevi garu likes YS Jagan garu,” he added.
The issue of the Nandi awards has devolved into a political brawl between Posani and Ashwini Dutt. While Posani is AP Film Development Corporation’s chairman, Dutt is a close ally of TDP chief Nara Chandrababu Naidu.
