Telugu Desam Party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu preferred to remain tight-lipped all through Friday when the Hyderabad police arrested Allu Arjun and send him to Chanchalguda jail on judicial remand.
This led to a lot of criticism against Naidu from Allu Arjun’s fans. But on Saturday, Naidu called up the actor and expressed his support to him.
“He spoke to him about the developments that led to his arrest,” sources said.
He also asked the Tollywood superstar not to get disheartened with the arrest and assured that he would stand by the actor at all times.
Several film personalities and celebrities called on Allu Arjun at his residence and expressed their support to him.
But one surprise appearance at the actor’s residence was former Andhra Pradesh minister Avanti Srinivas, who had quit the YSR Congress party a couple of days ago. He too met Allu Arjun and consoled him.
Speaking to reporters, Allu Arjun said as a citizen who would honour the law, he would abide by it.
“Since the issue is in the court of law, I cannot speak anything about the case,” he said.
Allu Arjun thanked everyone who stood by him during this hour of crisis with love and affection.
“I am absolutely alright. There is no need for any anxiety,” he added.
