After delivering back-to-back flops, Naga Chaitanya appears to have realized that the post-COVID era has presented numerous challenges to filmmakers and actors.
In a recent interview, he stated that only films with visual opulence are attracting audiences to theaters during this OTT era.
He explained that he signed Thandel for this reason, emphasizing that the film has a strong script and characters that will appeal to audiences.
However, he felt that such a story should not be told casually. To provide the audience with an extravagant experience, he prepared for the project for nine months.
He focused on learning the body language of fishermen and developing the Srikakulam accent.
"This is the biggest film of my career, and I needed this role," he said.
Naga Chaitanya has not announced his next film following Thandel.
