Nandamuri Balakrishna’s son, Mokshagna, is making headlines once again regarding his much-anticipated debut film.
While details remain uncertain, sources say that acclaimed director Nag Ashwin is being considered to helm the project.
Initially, Hanu-Man fame Prashanth Varma was reportedly set to direct Mokshagna’s debut film. However, the project was abruptly canceled just hours before its launch, with Balakrishna citing Mokshagna’s health issues as the reason for the delay.
Amid the suspense, Nag Ashwin, riding high on the success of Kalki 2898 AD, has emerged as a strong contender to take charge.
Renowned for films like Yevade Subramanyam and the National Award-winning Mahanati, Nag Ashwin has a proven track record as a master storyteller.
Reports suggest that C Ashwini Dutt of Vyjayanthi Movies, known for producing NTR’s Eduruleni Manishi, might bankroll the project, continuing the Nandamuri legacy.
Nag Ashwin, currently committed to Kalki 2898 AD's sequel, reportedly has a brief window of opportunity due to Prabhas’ packed schedule, making this collaboration possible.
Meanwhile, another proposal is on the table. Producer Suryadevara Naga Vamsi has pitched a project for Mokshagna under the direction of Lucky Baskhar's Venky Atluri.
Additionally, Balakrishna has already confirmed Aditya 999 Max, a sequel to his sci-fi classic Aditya 369, with Mokshagna in the lead role. The film is expected to release in 2025.
Fans are eagerly awaiting clarity on which project will officially mark Mokshagna Teja’s debut—Nag Ashwin’s ambitious venture, Venky Atluri’s commercial entertainer, or the much-anticipated Aditya 999 Max.
An official announcement is expected early next year, and if all goes as planned, Mokshagna will grace the silver screen within the next year.
