Made his directorial debut with Pittagoda, Anudeep KV got the golden opportunity to associate with Nag Ashwin for his second directorial Jathi Ratnalu releasing in a couple of days.
Anudeep informs Nag Ashwin liked his ‘Missed Call’ short film and approached him with the proposal of making an out and out entertainer when his first film Pittagoda was in last stages of post-production.
“Nag Ashwin is an egoless person. He gives his inputs, but leaves the opinion to me. We along with another writer Samar worked on the script. I too don’t have any qualms in taking suggestions. Ultimately, I want better output. I don’t hesitate to give credit to anyone worked for my film.”
Revealing about the basic plotline of the film, Anudeep says, “How the three dumb and innocent guys trapped in a serious crime come out of the situation is the basic idea of the film. The three don’t know anything about police or laws.”
The director affirms Nag Ashwin recommended Naveen Polisetty’s name for the main lead.
“Priyadarshi and Rahul Ramakrishna were the original choice for the other two lead roles. But, we looked for other options as the duo appeared together in various films. But, we finalized them, as we couldn’t find any replacements for them. However, we didn’t feel the repetitiveness, once the shoot was started.”
Anudeep informs that he readied 3 to 4 scripts during the making and also in the lockdown period.
