Nag Ashwin, the director of Kalki 2898 AD, shared updates about the highly anticipated second installment of the science-fiction drama.
Initially planned as a two-part series, the first film was a massive blockbuster, earning over ₹1000 crore globally.
The director revealed that he has completed the script for the second part and is aiming for a 2026 release.
However, the biggest challenge for Nag Ashwin is not the release itself but starting the film's production.
He mentioned that shooting will commence only once Prabhas, the lead actor, is available, indicating that the Rebel Star has not yet allocated dates for this project.
Prabhas is currently busy with The Raja Saab and Fauji, both in production. After completing these films, he is set to work on Sandeep Vanga’s Spirit.
As a result, scheduling Prabhas's dates is proving to be a significant hurdle for Nag Ashwin.
The director acknowledged this challenge and stated that he plans to wrap up the project as quickly as possible, aiming for a release either in 2026 or 2027.
