This weekend, Mythri Movie Makers is gearing up for the release of two big-budget films — but neither of them is in Telugu.
The top production house has produced a Bollywood film starring veteran actor Sunny Deol and a Tamil movie headlined by superstar Ajith Kumar.
The Hindi film Jaat and the Tamil action drama Good Bad Ugly are both slated to hit theaters on April 10. Surprisingly, despite Mythri’s reputation for aggressive promotions, both films have received minimal publicity.
In Tamil Nadu, Good Bad Ugly is expected to open strong due to Ajith Kumar's massive fan base. However, the actor is known for his strict no-promotion policy, avoiding press meets and interviews altogether.
As a result, the film hasn't been promoted in the Telugu states and carries zero buzz there. To sustain its box office run beyond the opening day, it will have to rely heavily on positive word-of-mouth.
Similarly, Jaat, directed by Gopichand Malineni and starring Sunny Deol, has struggled to generate pre-release excitement.
Early estimates suggest the film may not even cross ₹10 crore on its opening day — a disappointing figure for a big-budget release.
The trailer received a lukewarm response, criticized for its predictable and formulaic approach, which failed to connect with Bollywood audiences.
With low pre-release buzz surrounding both films, Mythri Movie Makers is now banking entirely on strong word-of-mouth to drive collections over the weekend.
