Director Srikanth Addala who is known for making family entertainers is coming up with a rural, rustic political actioner Peddha Kapu-1 introducing Virat Karrna as a hero with Miryala Ravinder Reddy of Dwara Creations bankrolling it.
Srikanth Addala in his exclusive interview with us clarified that though he belongs to the Kapu community, the movie Peddha Kapu will not discuss about caste system.
“When I was approached by the producer, I narrated him two different stories. The first one was a love story set in London's backdrop. Then, I told him a common man’s story. They loved Peddha Kapu story. While the first part establishes the struggles of the common man who gets selected, the second part will see him getting elected. The story has a big span; thus, we are making it as a two-part series.”
The director reveals the inspiration behind the film’s story. “Whenever a new political party was announced, people are of the opinion that they will bring change in their lives and do good. Such an incident happened in my father’s life. They brought a tree from Rampachodavaram and tagged a party flag to it. I liked the point and fictionalized it to make it as a feature film.”
Srikanth Addala affirms that Virat Karrna is an apt choice, as the movie is the story of a common man.
“For a story of a common man, I felt a newcomer would be a right pick. Virat Karrna has done well to play the character.”
