After scoring a hit with Dhruva, the filmmaker known for stylish action movies made the magnum opus Sye Raa with Chiranjeevi.
The film has turned out to be one of the highest grossing movies in Telugu States, but it couldn’t create an impact elsewhere.
Surender tried for Prabhas and Mahesh and later settled for making a movie with Varun Tej.
However, Varun Tej’s diary is full until next year and Surender is now hoping to impress iSmart Ram, who hasn’t signed anything after Red.
Maruthi also has been trying to rope in Ram for his next film, but the young star is yet to give his approval.
Surender was supposed to make Oosaravelli with Ram, but they had a fallout and Surender went on to make it with NTR.
Although Maruthi is known for minimum guarantee entertainers, Surender is known for working with big stars.
