All the equations are changing with the corona crisis. The foundations of all the businesses are shaking unpredictably.
The film industry is not an exception to this phenomenon. There are predictions like remunerations of heroes will decrease. There are other arguments like it is impossible to decrease hero remunerations in Tollywood.
There are reports from a long time that Mahesh Babu usually takes non-theatrical rights as his remuneration those will be valued anywhere around Rs.45 to 50 crores. The latest talk reveals that he is changing the model.
Rumors in the industry say that no producer has pocketed profits through Mahesh Babu's films since 'Srimanthudu'.
There were reports that producer Danayya and director Koratala Siva had to struggle with the settlement of rights, revenue, and losses of 'Bharat Ane Nenu'.
Producer PVP didn't even get a single penny from 'Maharshi'.
When it comes to 'Sarileru Neekevvaru', only Anil Sunkara knows what has happened.
Under these circumstances for the film Sarkaru Vari Paata, the banner of Mythri Movies will invest on the first copy excluding the remunerations of the hero.
Once the film is sold, subtracting the cost of production the remaining will be shared among Mahesh, 14 reels and Mytri Movies.
But in this model, Mahesh has to compromise with lesser remuneration. If the film is completed in Rs 50 Cr, and in case it is sold at Rs 150 Cr, Mahesh gets a share of Rs 35 Cr.
But at this juncture there is no other way than to compromise. It is indeed a good sign for win-win proportion. Let us wish other heroes also follow Mahesh Babu's formula in the interest of producers.
