Manchu Vishnu, the Presidential candidate in MAA Elections spoke to greatandhra in an exclusive interview.
He shared various insights around MAA Elections and also spoke out the ins and outs of the film industry in general.
Answering a question Manchu Vishnu said, "There is a person by name Suresh Kondeti who runs a website and also works for a TV Channel. He took the membership in MAA long ago and started playing politics here. He spoiled the peace in this association and brought the caste splits. He leaks the inside information to the media. He has no ethics. He works in favor of a community in the film industry. Not knowing that such dacoits enter this association, the rules and bylaws were not written firmly. Some amendments are to be made in this perspective. I am focussed on writing some stronger guidelines in the matter of allotting membership, once I am elected. I believe in the line- 'a stitch time saves nine'. Because, if any member makes a mistake, the disgrace hits the entire MAA. So we need to be watchful of whom we are giving the membership here".
Saying about Naresh who is backing him and also about Jeevitha who is on the side of Prakash Raj, he shared- "The reason for Naresh garu's anger is that the members in his team committed treason by joining the opposite team much before the dissolution of the committee. So he took it as a prestige issue now and supported my candidature. Jeevitha garu sent me a message which is with me. The cross voting is going to happen in my favor".
About his campaign he said- "I spoke to 750 out of 900 members so far. The remaining were either not reachable or accessible".
Expressing his opinion about Prakash Raj, who is heading the opposite panel- "I respect Prakash Raj as an actor. I am planning 15 films in the next two years. He is a fine actor. I have to cast him in my films for sure. But he is not the right person to head MAA. I can be far better than him in this role. Had there been actors like NTR in the race, I would have said that they are better", Vishnu said.
Manchu Vishnu also shared several interesting anecdotes about his fear for his father, respect towards director Bapu and ANR.
