Film trade has been hoping that the Government will lift the restrictions on movie theaters from August.
Some multiplex chains even made necessary arrangements for screening movies during covid times. However, the Government has not given permission to reopen movie plexes and educational institutions.
Surprisingly, the restrictions on gymnasiums have been lifted. Also, there wouldn’t be any night time curfew from August.
Senior producer Suresh Babu said he wouldn’t open his theaters across Telugu states even if the restrictions are lifted. He believed that the Government wouldn’t take such a step when the coronavirus cases are on the rise.
Movie theaters have been shut since March second week and they will remain closed until August 31.
Coronavirus cases haven’t peaked as yet in India according to pandemic experts. Which means the lifting of restrictions on movie theaters and educational institutions in September also seems unlikely as of now.
