Laila: Producer Losses Rs 6 Cr

Laila: Producer Losses Rs 6 Cr

The verdict on Vishwak Sen's Laila was clear from the very first day of its release on February 14. However, producer Sahu Garapati hoped the film would pick up collections over the weekend, but that didn’t happen.

Nearly 50% of theaters had zero bookings, while the remaining theaters saw only minimal collections. Laila, which critics slammed as cheap, crass, and boring—most of them giving it ratings of 1 or 1.5—turned out to be a disaster.

The first weekend’s collections were shockingly low. So, how much will the producer lose?

According to estimates, he is expected to lose around ₹6 crore on his investment. Fortunately, he managed to recover some money through non-theatrical revenue.

From the theatrical business alone, his losses will be around ₹5 to ₹6 crore. For a film starring Vishwaksen, this is a significant setback.
