Two actors competed against each other at the box office last weekend. Sudheer Babu, the relatively senior actor, and Kiran Abbavaram, the younger actor, both had new films in theaters on October 6. Both films performed poorly at the box office.
Sudheer Babu has consistently delivered flops. Prior to the release of his most recent film, "Mama Mascheendra," he had a streak of flops: "Sridevi Soda Center," "Aa Ammayi Gurinchi Meeku Cheppali," and "Hunt." With four failures in a row, his career was in serious jeopardy.
He is currently preparing to release "Harom Hara," but the film will face challenges in securing theater deals.
Kiran Abbavaram, on the other hand, initially seemed like a promising hero. His boy-next-door simplicity and relatable characters in films like "Raja Varu Rani Garu" and "SR Kalyana Mandapam" were well-received. However, after the success of "SR Kalyana Mandapam," he has been making films that fail to resonate with his target audience - the youth.
His latest film, "Rules Ranjann," also failed to impress. While his Telugu career is at a standstill, there are rumors that he is considering a "pan-Indian" project. Whether he can bounce back from such unrealistic ideas remains to be seen.
