At a time when there have been speculations about Telangana finance minister T Harish Rao getting sidelined in the Telangana Rashtra Samithi following the debacle in Dubbak assembly by-elections, party president and chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao sprang a surprise by showering praises on him.
On Thursday, while inaugurating a series of programmes in Siddipet, the chief minister described Harish Rao a gem of a leader.
“Siddipet is not an ordinary place. It was from here Telangana movement had taken the birth. Without Siddipet, there is no KCR and without KCR, there is no Telangana,” he said.
He said after he had moved to a different constituency, Harish Rao had succeeded him from Siddipet and had been representing it since then.
“I gave you a wonderful and gem of a leader like Harish Rao and he has been upholding my prestige and name in the constituency,” KCR said.
He said he was extremely happy that Harish Rao had developed Siddipet like never before.
“He has made Siddipet a wonderful city. There are no power cuts and there is no drinking water scarcity. Every village in Siddipet is well developed. He has a bright future,” he said.
