In a recent podcast, Sharma shared how he faced bankruptcy when he ventured into movie production, which led to depression.
He revealed that he produced two films, Firangi and Son of Manjeet Singh, in 2017 and 2018, but both received mixed reviews and he lost a significant amount of money, leaving his bank balance at zero.
Sharma reflected that producing requires skills beyond just having money a lesson he learned the hard way.
During this difficult phase, his wife, Ginni Chatrath was a key source of support.
Remembering his initial struggles in Mumbai with just Rs 1200, Sharma now hosts The Great Indian Kapil Show, which streams on Netflix.
