Suriya and Bobby Deol’s much-anticipated Kanguva appears to have encountered a setback just before its scheduled November 14 release.
KE Gnanavel Raja, head of Studio Green, which is producing the fantasy action thriller, is reportedly facing legal issues after Reliance Entertainment filed a case against him in the Chennai High Court over an unpaid loan linked to multiple films.
According to reports, Raja borrowed ₹99.22 crore from Reliance Entertainment for projects including Arya’s Teddy and Chiyaan Vikram’s Thangalaan. However, he has repaid only ₹45 crore so far.
Reliance is now demanding an additional ₹45 crore and has requested a stay on Kanguva's theatrical release and Thangalaan's OTT release until the outstanding amount is settled.
Justice Kumaresh Babu has recorded the statements and postponed further proceedings until November 7.
