The collections of Kalki 2898 AD are impressive and showing positive signs of hitting the ₹1000 crore mark very soon.
However, it's worth noting that the film is performing only on par with Salaar in the Telugu version. The collections of Salaar after five days of its release are almost equal to those of Kalki in the same time frame.
The difference, and a positive sign, is that Kalki is performing 40% better than Salaar in the Hindi belt so far and rocking faster in overseas.
The Hindi audience didn't show much enthusiasm for Salaar, but with Kalki, whether due to the Mahabharata characters involved or another reason, they have been supporting the film in a significant way in the Hindi belt as well as in North America. This indicates that the film is gaining more traction in terms of worldwide gross collections.
We’ll have to see how far the film goes in its full run. At its current pace, it might surpass ₹1000 crore, provided its weekday collections and second weekend collections remain strong.
