The HMDA auctioned lands set a new record in Hyderabad history. So, the Kokapet region is back in the news.
Along with the hashtag #Kokapet, the names of actress Jhansi and #KokapetAunty are trending on social media.
Jhansi played 'Kokapet Aunty' in Venkatesh's 2007 film "Tulasi." She claimed in the film that she became wealthy after selling their Kokapet lands.
So, when news of HMDA plots setting new records broke, Jhansi's video from "Tulasi" went viral.
People began sharing this video clip, claiming that Jhansi long back stated that the Kokapet lands are worth crores of rupees.
In Kokapet, an acre of land is now worth Rs 100.75 crore.
