Tamil actor Jayam Ravi announced on social media that he and his wife, Aarti Ravi, are divorcing after 15 years of marriage.
The couple shares two sons. Following months of speculation about their separation, the actor confirmed the news on Monday, citing ‘personal reasons’ for the split.
Ravi posted two notes on X (formerly Twitter), captioned, "Grateful for your love and understanding. Jayam Ravi."
One note was in English, and the other in Tamil. In his message, Ravi described life as a journey with different chapters and, with a ‘heavy heart,’ shared the personal news.
He wrote, "After much thought and discussions, I have made the difficult decision to dissolve my marriage with Aarti. This decision was not made hastily and is based on personal reasons that I believe are in the best interests of everyone involved."
Ravi also requested privacy, urging people to avoid making assumptions about his marriage.
He added, "In light of this, I kindly ask all of you to respect our privacy and that of our family members during this difficult time. Please refrain from making assumptions, rumors, or allegations, and allow this matter to remain private."
