Jani Master's Case: Media Split Into Two

Jani Master's Case: Media Split Into Two

The issue of exploiting women in Tollywood has resurfaced, and for the past two weeks, it has been downplayed by the film industry's bigwigs.

With no progress in addressing the matter, the victim had no choice but to approach the police.

Had Jani Master responded and reached some sort of compromise, this case might not have escalated.

The situation would likely have remained hidden if the victim had not escalated the issue to the authorities, and the industry heads might have stayed silent.

Now that the matter is in the hands of the police, the question arises as to why industry leaders failed to act earlier.

In an attempt to cover it up, they have appeared before the media to deliver statements, suggesting that anyone can come forward to file a complaint.

But what would they do if someone actually complains?

What kind of resolution do they propose for such serious cases?

Will there be any real punishment for the wrongdoers?

Had the media been informed earlier, there might have been more pressure on Jani Master.

Why do the heads of movie associations believe that criminal cases should be resolved through compromise?

The situation is further complicated by media divisions, influenced by Jani Master's political connections.

Media outlets supporting Janasena are trying to cast doubt on the allegations while simultaneously pushing for justice for the victim.

If there's talk of a conspiracy, how does it affect the victim's status? If the MAA association acknowledges the woman as a victim, how can they also suspect a conspiracy against Jani Master?

If they believe there is a conspiracy, who do they think is behind it?

Even if the media is unaware of the evidence the victim holds, the movie association heads and the police are aware. That’s why the police have filed charges under various sections. So, where does the idea of a conspiracy fit in?

Are we to believe that the victim’s suffering is being twisted into a political conspiracy?

To effectively combat such issues in Tollywood, it’s not enough to merely encourage people to come forward with complaints.

Complaints should be made public as soon as they are received, and inquiries should be conducted transparently, without resorting to reconciliation efforts that cover up wrongdoing.

There should also be media representation in such committees to ensure transparency and encourage victims to come forward bravely.

"But unfortunately, all film associations act in a way that protects the image of big names when they are involved," says a film artiste.
