Choreographer Shaik Jani Basha, popularly known as Jani Master, was presented in the Upparpally court on Friday, where he was remanded to 14 days of judicial custody.
This development follows his arrest in Goa by the Cyberabad police’s Special Operations Team (SOT) on Thursday. He was subsequently brought to Hyderabad in the early hours of Friday.
According to a senior official involved in the investigation, the police plan to file a custody petition in the coming days.
“The case is solid, and the chances of bail are minimal. We are currently discussing the application for his custody to facilitate further questioning regarding the allegations made against him,” the official stated.
In the meantime, Jani Master has been placed in judicial custody at Chanchalguda Central Jail in Hyderabad.
Remand Report:
The report indicates that the victim has known Jani since 2019. In 2020, he allegedly sexually assaulted her in a hotel in Mumbai.
He reportedly brought her on as an assistant with malicious intent. At the time of the assault, she was only 16 years old, and their acquaintance has lasted for over four years.
During this time, he allegedly assaulted her multiple times and threatened her not to disclose the incidents to anyone.
He also used his influence to prevent opportunities from coming her way.
The remand report notes that Jani Master's wife also threatened the young woman. It appears that after the 14-day remand, Jani will not be able to escape punishment.
